Thanks Chris.
I've just changed the password. There was nothing in the account except test messages otherwise I would have been much more apprehensive and searched for passwords before sending.

Actually the application of my vowel filters stops junk - so it ends up in the Inbox of Hotmail. That means it goes to Tbird and gets sorted in the Tbird filters. The downside is that if you go to Hotmail everything is in the Inbox which is inconvenient if you use Hotmail on another PC which doesn't have your Tbird account.

Hi Sandy,
You may want to change the password on this Hotmail account, you've just given it to everyone who reads this forum! The best way to send log files is as an attachment direct to [email protected], this will go directly to the author of these extensions. Probably still best to edit passwords etc. out of the files before sending, I'm fairly certain that the Webmail Author is honest and trustworthy and will not abuse such information in log files, but still good practice to remove such confidential information. I suspect that Hotmail will apply its junk filters before any user filters such as your vowel filters. Once Hotmail has marked a message as junk any filters that you have on your account will not be applied to the message.

Can you send me the Hotmail log files (see webmail options panel)

Apologies, I was out most of yesterday and have only just picked up your message. Curiously, I tried sending an email from my daughter's laptop yesterday from the spare account using Hotmail within firefox. It was sent and received on this machine as if sent from my wife's Hotmail account! It was received in my hotmail account on her machine - but under Junk (possibly because junk was in the title- but I had put in a load of vowel filters to stop anything going into junk (via my machine).

I've just tried sending from the spare account to my account, both on Tbird. The message was received properly both in Tbird and in Hotmail using firefox.. Something has happened! I'm no longer getting the RETR... error message on logging in to Tbird either. Is it an updated Webmail add-on? My vague and possibly faulty recollection is that it was 1.3.10 and is now 1.3.11.

You asked for the log file. I assume you mean going to tools - Addons-Webmail-options-logging..... the Hotmail log files are attached (I hope). nb I note I did not ticked the Logging box until this morning so they might be of little use.

As ever thanks you for your help and to you (and many others) for their efforts in creating and developing Tbird.

Sandy
