On my profile, I can put anything I like as the location, even
non-terrestrial locations, (The Moon, Mars, Jupiter, etc.). If I was
selecting from a drop down list, then I would expect it to make a
difference, but it appears that what I put in there is just for the
information of anyone reading my profile. Good news is that I've now got
POP working for my yahoo.com account based on my (true) UK location, I
wouldn't even have tried were it not for the recent discussion.

I've tried changing my location, to Romania, Canada, even a couple of

Doesn't make a difference, the POP option is still not available to
me.

Hello Sanjav,
Go to your yahoo profile and change your default location from US to
something else (I switched to Canada/Quebec), then go back to your
email account and you can enable POP3.

I have 2 yahoo mail accounts. One started in 1997 the other in 2003.
Both are free yahoo mail accounts. On the 1997 account I am able to
use pop3 with no problems. On the 2003 account I am not allowed to
use pop3. So I have no idea what yahoo is doing, but it is clear that
not all USA users are allowed to use pop3 yet.
