I had problems with Yahoo as well, so I uninstalled the Webmail
extensions and started checking my Yahoo mail in my browser. Then I
decided to go get this add-on again and to try installing it again.
The new installation did not require setting up a new account in
Thunderbird. It's all done in the extension. Whether it uses POP3 or
not, it works. And now T-bird brings up my Yahoo mail right inside a
browser inside Thunderbird. That's cool. Then I decided to delete my
Gmail account from Thunderbird and use it that way as well. It works
the same way. I have 3 Yahoo mail accounts and a Gmail all in the new
Webmail 2.7.6 extension and all working fine. The only drawback with
this method of reading the webmails is that the messages are not
downloaded into the Thunderbird inbox as they were before. But the
webmail accounts are all available with 2 clicks of a mouse, since
envelope icon sit at the top and bottom of the Thunderbird screen
where you can acess them.
