Thanks. In addition to the config changes I also had to set the proxy
to 192..... to get rid of the connection error. But even after this I was 
getting
"UNKNOWN ERROR" message. 

Meanwhile since the patch was made available (thanks to ztest), I gave up.
 Thanks anyway for the pointer. Next time I have a problem, will try it out.
