 Maybe I missed something but setting this ticket as invalid doesn't
 respond to a feature not working as expected.[[BR]][[BR]]


 As pointed in some of the comments from the page you give it's not correct
 to assume everyone knows about two-step rendering (although I did know
 some form of that was in place). I know this is not a support forum by the
 way, but then I should open a ticket to request a more complete
 explanation in http://book.cakephp.org/view/97/Elements to how people can
 expect $javascript->link to work as expected when called from an element
 rendered within the layout.[[BR]][[BR]]



 Please indicate if the ticket for documentation is needed. Or if you
 prefer tell me how to achieve this and I'll write that part for the book.
