Anchors in a page are very useful, and even the old doxygen docs had this.
Furthermore, the javascript is not the part 'breaking the back button'
that is just plain old fragment anchors. The whole thing was designed so
that with no Javascript you can still navigate to the functions.

If you dislike the fanciness, you can disable Javascript. To be honest
the old docs were missing classes and functions, so I think the new api is
a step in the right direction.
