#6281: SELECT COUNT(*) ... GROUP BY causes memory spike with mysqli ------------------------+--------------------------------------------------- Reporter: sdewald | Owner: Type: Bug | Status: closed Priority: Medium | Milestone: 1.2.x.x Component: MySQLi | Version: 1.2 Final Severity: Normal | Resolution: invalid Keywords: | Php_version: n/a Cake_version: | ------------------------+--------------------------------------------------- Changes (by mark_story):

The query cache allows repeat queries to not be run against the database multiple times. Your patch effectively breaks the query cache for COUNT() queries. I think the issue here is that your count query returns 1,000,000 rows. Meaning that you have a issue with your SQL. [[BR]][[BR]] If you would like to reopen this ticket, please do so with a test case that shows how find count is the issue, and not queries that return 1 million rows. -- Ticket URL: <https://trac.cakephp.org/ticket/6281#comment:4> CakePHP : The Rapid Development Framework for PHP <https://trac.cakephp.org/> Cake is a rapid development framework for PHP which uses commonly known design patterns like ActiveRecord, Association Data Mapping, Front Controller and MVC.
