I'd reccomend having the something (MainMenu?) fixed somewhere that contains at least search. I'm suggesting this based on my creating a new tiddler, and then closing all the other tiddlers.
Actually, having nothing but search in the top right corner in an area just big enough for search might be interesting when that is your default start up. Starts you off with a blank sheet to work with... and all your reference info at your finger tips.
