There's a surprising number of people using WordPress as a generic 
(non-blogging) CMS.
 From what I can tell, it's a pretty solid platform, with a large number 
of third-party plugins and a good admin interface.

As long as there's a limited number of authors and you don't need 
features like public revision control, that's probably not a bad choice.

I'd be interested to hear how you get on with it.
