That's exactly the problem that CookieSaverPlugin was built to
solve... it provides an alternative to browser-based cookies that
ensures that all TW preferences are automatically saved in the
document, so that they don't 'disappear' when you move between
browsers or systems (or flush the cookies).

In addition, the plugin can be configured to actually block use of
selected browser-based cookies (or set the browser itself to block all
cookies) while still having full access and use of all TiddlyWiki
option settings.

Perhaps if I had simply named it "OptionSaverPlugin" it wouldn't be
triggering your distaste for cookies.
