I've just added a new <<sectionTOC>> macro to SectionLinksPlugin to provide functionality similar to the DCTableOfContents plugin... i.e,. automatic generation of numbered-bullet lists containing links to each section of the tiddler in which the macro is rendered. If you install the latest version of SectionLinksPlugin, you might not need to even use DCTableOfContentsPlugin... which would also avoid the need to tweak the code of that 'orphaned' plugin.
