Hello Group,
I've been lurking around the outskirts for a little while and I have a
couple of ideas and questions.
First, an Idea;
I've been watching some of the serverside development with ccTiddly
and TiddlyWeb. It got me thinking
I've seen, and played with, the ImportTiddler plug-in and Tiddlyspot
and that gave me an Idea.

Couldn't you use TiddlyWiki for its own server?

By that I mean, have One TW on-line (the ServerTW) and a Second on you
computer (the ClientTW). The ClientTW would access the on-line
ServerTW and update itself (ClientTW). The ServerTW need not actually
be opened but only read by the ClientTW. This is much like
ImportTiddler except the tiddler would actually copy to the ClientTW
to be read offline. Then, The Client can upload or update to the
ServerTW. Then ServerTW could be read by other ClientTWs. These
capabilities would be handled by Plug-Ins to the existing TiddlyWikis.
Rather than new serverside programs.

Isn't that just a description of the internet?
Yes. the TW simply becomes both browser and server.

So, How is this different? you may ask.
Unlike ImportTiddler, the tiddler is loaded into the ClientTW for
offline reading. More like the import feature in the backstage area,
but pre-programed and automated for the specific ServerTW. Uploading
to the ServerTW from the ClientTW to share with other ClientTWs.
Unlike Tiddlyspot, the ServerTW is not actually opened, its really
just an archive.

Why do it like this?
The ServerTW would be easily installed; Its just a TiddlyWiki / html
page.
It could be hosted on Tiddlyspot.
Access privileges could be handled the ServerTW plug-ins.
Passwords for access are in the ClientTW plug-ins.
Theoretically, the ServerTW could be set-up to only be accessed by
designated ClientTWs, providing a level of security. And creating a
specific work group.

I can think of other possible ways to employ this. I suspect that this
capability may already exists by the careful combining of existing
plug-ins.

I'm not a programmer. I put this out there for consideration for those
who know better than I.
It seems like it could be quickly put together into a useful mash-up.
