Maybe this is too far afield, but if you use the TW-notes variety of TW, then tiddlers can automatically be hung as subtopics on the left menu just by setting their tag values appropriately. TiddlySnip can be set up to automatically tag collected tiddlers as required.
My understanding, probably wrong, is that TiddlySnip is somewhat orphaned going forward.
