Hi there, Well, I just tried out the most recent mGTD build, and as usual I'm amazed. The 3.0 version strikes me as being very clean, modular, maintainable, and just plain intuitive. It runs reasonably well on Seamonkey 1.1.x (which uses an old Gecko core), and it feels snappy on Firefox 3.5 Beta4-pre. I have a cheap Dell laptop that is a few years old, running Ubuntu, nothing special. I also upgraded it to the latest TW core, and it seems to work fine. Just one additional feature would be nice: 1. I really wish Chrome saving could somehow be supported, especially without a Java applet.
As for the functionality, the ticklers feature is really well thought out, and a huge improvement over mGTD 1.x, which I had used extensively. A few ideas: 2. It seems a bit strange that you can add a new "Old tickler" with the + button in the ticklers dashboard. 3. And how is it that the "Actioned" tag gets added to a tickler during the regular GTD workflow? 4. Would it be possible to add a trigger time (hour and minute) to the ticklers instead of just by day? 5. For the flashing ticklers alert in the MainMenu bar, would it be possible to turn that into a dropdown list when you click on it, with the option to "Open all tiddlers"? This would be nice when you have multiple events going off on the same day. The main interface is beautifully done. Again, nothing major, but the following points come to mind: 6. For the Realm tabs, I think a much more contrasting color should be used for active Realms (like yellow, on the default theme), because as it is I can hardly distinguish between the different shades of gray. 7. For the timeline, it would be nice to not see any of the system tiddlers (like plugins, MPTW themes, etc.) in the main "More...-- >Timeline" tab, although they should be visible under the "More...-- >TW-->Timeline" tab. 8. Additionally, could you include by default a plugin that only shows timeline entries in "More...-->Timeline" from a certain date on forward? Then you could just set a cutoff date every time you release, and end users don't see the development timeline, only their personal data. This would give a much cleaner impression. 9. Would it be feasible to change the date header on the timeline so that it stands out more? At first glance the date looks like just another tiddler in the timeline. And it has a bullet point just like all the others. It would be nice to get rid of the bullet, set the date font to bold, and change the background of the date to a light yellow or darker gray color. 10. I tend to click back and forth a lot between "Work" and "Review" to find the listing I need. It might be nice to make "Work" very, very sparse with only the most common items, and put everything else under review. Again, great work, thanks a lot! --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "GTD TiddlyWiki" group.
