Thanks, folks... so many options, so little time... I had no idea that the whole "FF sidebar" sub-set existed until this thread. In fact, I had almost never used the FF sidebar, though I typically have more than 20 tabs open by the end of the day.
The variable-size font thing sounds promising, I could call it with the URL extension from the portable device, and let it default in everything else. I should have made it more clear that the Nokia n810 is not a phone, it's an "Internet Tablet", with a larger screen than smartphones and runs Linux (a Debian offshoot). I've been grooming it as a less- proprietary replacement for a long series of Palm devices, but still have not succeeded in migrating everything. A fair amount of the information I used on the Palm is sensitive, was encrypted there, so I have a copy of TW in a TrueCrypt volume. It all works, it's just not nearly as handy as the Palm used to be (yet). Thanks again.
