This works only with FCKEditor up to 2.5 and not later when I tried. Get used to the TW Syntax and use PreviewPlugin - this is safer and retains all formatting for TW. Using HTML code (this is what the external editors create) spoils TW formatting and even HTMLFormattingPlugin brings it back only partial (internal and external links are handled the same). When you say it works now: which FCKEditor are you using?
