Finally, some content ;o) Maybe tiddlypocketbook would be a nice layout for those short chapters, and then use some anotationsplugin to show your notes as a tooltip.
You'd have to fiddle a bit to integrate the searchbox in the stylesheet. Another good option would be to either show the results as a list or open the tiddlers.
