I've started learning French and felt that TiddlyWiki might be a useful tool to organise my logical brain which has struggled in the past with learning any sort of language.
I felt because of the non-linearity of TiddlyWiki it might lend itself quite well to jumping around words and sentences to at least improve my vocabulary. I have also started using TiddlyWiki to note down new vocabulary I come across. I have the french word/french phrase as the tiddler title and put the translation in a field and put an example sentence/ sentences in the text field, linking to other words that are not engraved in my vocabulary yet. Whenever I find words which in my head seem connected (either sound the same or look the same or to link words commonly used together) I use tags to make these connections. For example the French words for "to learn" and "to hear" sound the same to me (apprendre and entendre respectively) so I've tagged these words to link them. The way I've programmed my brain is that I have an image of a teacher and a child listening in my head so I can recall it easier. I'm hoping the tagging mechanism will do similar things.. So has anyone used TiddlyWiki for similar purposes? I would be interested in any ideas or experiences people have had... or existing plugins you might recommend that in some way would help learning.
