Hi Jon,
Well, what I meant was, that I might go for implementing a more
intuitive version of this Lernkartei thingy... maybe with "quizzes"
and with a different gui, invoking templates with edit fields for
sounds, images and videos etc via tags or custom fields rather than
coding these things in the tiddler content. Also using "words"
differently such that one could easily learn stuff in either direction
(e.g. German-English vs. English-German) without having different
"dictionary entries".
I also wouldn't want to see all words from all levels all the time. To
me, that is more of a statistics report ...showing stats on words,
levels and categories, your learning progress so to speak.
I would rather want to see either of these two approaches to learn
stuff (words) this way:
a) Show the next word in the lowest level of a given category (or
categories) and to proceed to the next level once the lower level is
completed (no words left) ... which truly is the Lernkartei
mechanism... only automated.
b) Showing the user a random word
Either way, the word were to be automatically promoted to the next
level if answered correctly (a simple "correct answer" button) or put
back to level one if the user fails ("wrong answer" button), instead
of clicking a radio button and thinking about which level a word is
going into next. Cheating were a black and white choice then, not a
granulated one, either you had it right or you had it wrong ;-)
Etc, etc, ect...
Tobias.
