As you've noted, the rules for automatic WikiWord link detection can
result an unintended implied link being created.  As Mans has pointed
out, you can supress this handling for any specific instance of linked
text, simply by preceding the text with "~" (tilde), like this:

This is a WikiWord, that is linked
This is a ~WikiWord, that is NOT linked

However, if you want to get more general control over WikiWord linking
throughout the document, you can try this plugin:
   http://www.TiddlyTools.com/#DisableWikiLinksPlugin

It includes an option checkbox to turn off *all* automatic linking (so
that [[...]] brackets are always needed).  You could also turn off
auto-linking within a specific tiddler by tagging that tiddler with
'excludeWikiWords', and/or exclude selected words from being linked,
by listing them (space-separated) in a tiddler named
DisableWikiLinksList.
