Thanks Eric for taking personal interest in my problem and supporting
this plugin. It works now, after your change. I hope that someday I
would be able to understand the code if I wanted to make changes – it
seems gibberish to me now.
I think with this Plugin we almost have a document management system
(even if it does not have versioning or easy way to rename and move
files.) I have a number of scanned documents. So far I did not have a
way to associate some text description to each image. I tried to
suggest this to Google Desktop to enable the functionality to add text
descriptions to files, but that never got implemented. I also tried
Alfresco – but that is a pain to get to work.
My only gripe with this Plugin would be that the box “Generate
external links to files, using this format:” could be made into a
bigger text area instead of a single line. For example right now I
have something like
''File:'' [[%0|%3]] \n\n!Description\n\nThe following are the Notes in
relation to ''%0''
So the resulting Tiddler has a place where I can put in the
description regarding the File, and a link to it. If you make it a
larger text area, it would be easier for users to ultimately configure
the Tiddler generated when dropping a File. If we are going to use
this as a document management system, this would be helpful. (I have
300+ scans each about 5MB – so formatting each would be painful.)
Nonetheless, this Plugin does what I need. Thanks again for your help.
O.O.
