Hi Ken, welcome in this news group! - I use ShowReference in all of my tiddlers with no problems (FF 3.0, TW 2.5.3). Maybe your problems are caused by interference of other plugins or StyleSheet/CSS definitions? - Does the tiddler in question do have really references - test it with "references" in the toolbar.
