David Marks focus on control in the export rather than in the import is the best approach if you can fine tune the export.
If you do not control the content and you are importing, a filter on import would be helpful. I am working on this at the moment so just ask if you need more. However down loading empty.html importing a json and exporting selected content is a simple workflow.
