Folks,

Join our Collaborative Project -* Words*

Recent collaborative discussions and illustrated some interesting methods
and challenges for our community. Words and Numbers.
I thought I would initiate a couple to stimulate activity from the
community, join in and contribute if you can otherwise lurkers are fine.

*AIM: *Develop and improve the ability for people to interrogate large word
lists with TiddlyWiki

*Inspiration: *Whatever your language as a rule you most likely use a
maximum of a 2,000 to 45,000 word vocabulary, yet word lists are freely
available with more. By importing them into tiddlywiki is becomes possible
for you to interrogate these words in a number of ways and for a number of
reasons;

   - Help you practice fo Scrabble, make or do crossword puzzles
   - Make a Wiki based game of [[Boggle|https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Boggle]]
(buy the game to pay for the intellectual property)
   - Learn a language by searching for base, root, prefix suffix and more
   - Build a cryptography language (for fun)
   - Perhaps special lists geometrical shapes, chemical or biological names
   - Build a set of data sources we can share in out community already
   prepared for use in TiddlyWiki
   - Just enjoy the love of language

Large lists present possible performance issues, but as demonstrated
recently 66,000 words are feasible and I expect even larger numbers with
the right design. Word lists can be in a single data tiddler you
interrogate or a single tiddler once you wish to add information to a given
word. Canned search strings that may interest people would also be fun,
like all english words prefixed or containing polly.

*Where do we start?*

   - Where do we source some good word lists? are they maintained
   - How do we best import them?
   - Create a custom search that first looks for tiddlers then looks in a
   data tiddler
   - Provide an easy to use Regex or other wild card search with guidance

Lets get started Logophiles.
*A person who is a lover of words.
