The trouble is, as Jed suggests, that it's a lot more bureaucracy, and there are a lot of challenges to make sure everybody is happy with the decisions of the committee. Communities seem to work better without money. I would be very happy to feature individual fundraising links on tiddlywiki.com, although again there's a lot we need to get right to be sure that we're being fair.
