I know I'm probably in the minority, but I think a simple, local-time, 
user-readable date format would be useful. Like 1815-06-18 . With
the appropriate filters like hdays (human readable days), and macros for 
conversion. The TW date format is overkill for most
historical dates for which we don't have an exact time. It's also overkill 
for most personal entries, where the time component
can be contained in the text if necessary.
