Sure amelioration is good! Isn't it happening anyway by those who can? Everyone I know closely here (white, middle-class, middle-aged) are beavering away on social media. People can who sing have been sometimes. But its amelioration, not a substitute for the missing direct connection. And I think its easy to forget how many most vulnerable don't have the internet or smartphone or know how to use it.
