Instead of changing the slideshow-plugin from tiddler-mode to section- mode, wouldn't it be simpler to create a kind of import and split the document at defined separators into new tiddlers with respective names?
Because, once the slides are in tiddlywiki, I don't see a reason for why they should be kept as 1 tiddler... so the problem seems to only be the import... turning one big lump of information into a slideshow... you'll always have to do the work of having to define slides anyways.
