Pinging this topic again. It appears that diagramming plugins come, then are abandoned. I have taken to using graphviz (viz plugin) and it works reasonably well (only a bit quirky) and if there were some reasonable ways of adding symbols for creating graphs such as flowchart, CORAS, BPMN, sequence, communication diagrams, it would fulfill 90% of my needs. Having said that, are there any efforts out there for incorporating lightweight graphing with extensible symbol sets, or diagramming?
