Hi Chris, there's no workaround for the modifier key on different OS-es ... 
you'll have to change it when switching from macOS to KDE

I think I'll add a css setting for the ControlPanel so that it will always 
be full-width. Maybe also the Tiddler Manager and the Tag Manager should be 
full width.
