Hi Mark, Sorry for not checking back here. Did you figure out your problem? I think I'm missing some information on what you did to change the colour. If you changed the colour for *page-background* in the palette tiddler, I'd have thought that would do the trick.
If you by any chance are changing css rules within developer tools in your browser, that will definitely get undone on reload. It's great for figuring out what's happening in the browser, testing rules, etc. Then you go back to your source file(s) and change what you want changed; in this case a palette tiddler in the tiddlywiki.
