You don't mention what operating system, browser, or memory quantity
you're using. On Windows, I find it interesting to open up the
applications-running box and see how much memory & resources firefox
is using.

I find typing into text area boxes tedious. On firefox, the "Its all
Text" plugin allows you to type using your favorite text editor. This
is usually the best way to edit if you have more than about 2
paragraphs or a half-dozen lines of text.
