but the permissions seem ok (-rw- r-- r--) and I can edit and save
with gedit.
I can also save a changed file using firefox and epiphany's "save as"
functions.

I just can't save from within TiddlyWiki (even from the copy I can
make using a browser's "save as").
The version I've been using is 2.5.3.  It occured to me that I ought
to check the most recent one, so I've just gotten 2.6.0.

I can't save in that either:  I opened empty.html, added a tiddler,
then tried to save.  It refused (with the same message).

Any other ideas?  I have to admit that I'm stumped.
