Relevant GitHub issue, for anyone willing to solve this : #6176 <https://github.com/Jermolene/TiddlyWiki5/issues/6176>
*TL;DR* This happens because tiddlywiki put all the css in one <style> tag. When errors occur in CSS, the parser attempts to recover gracefully, throwing away only *the minimum amount of content* before returning to parsing as normal. - https://www.w3.org/TR/css-syntax-3/#error-handling Here, *the minimum amount of content* = ALL the css rules following the missing closing bracket. Meaning that if the faulty stylesheet has a list-before field set to empty, the entire UI will break. The easiest solution seems to encapsulate each stylesheets in their own style tag but it's more tricky than it seems..
