I see you've sorted your problem. I can explain a little (but perhaps not
help much).

The upload in the options is the one that Tiddlyspot adds for you. It has
all the parameters hard coded into the macro so that when you click it, it
will upload to your site at tiddlyspot.

The upload button in the backstage area is a generic one that is added by
UploadPlugin. It doesn't have the Tiddyspot params. Ideally there should be
a 'Tiddlyspot Upload' button in the backstage that does the same thing as
the upload button in the options panel.
