You bet we're keen on seeing whether and how you're going to succeed with this one. Please keep reporting on your success / troubles in achieving such implementation. Though, I never used them myself... as Mike suggested, either TW960 or Malo will give you a (simple) starting framework to get to that layout if you don't want to define it all from scratch. As for the menu you could try Eric's: http://tiddlytools.com/#ShowPopup ...and use transclusion in combination with hidden sections in your menu tiddler which contain the list items.
