I'm puzzled by something -- without double spacing between paragraphs,
wouldn't the paragraphs require first line indenting? TW would eat
those indents too, wouldn't it?

Maybe I'm completely wrong, but it seems to me that if you pasted the
documents as html, you could preserve the formatting you need. I don't
use Word, but doesn't it have a "save as html" option? Perhaps you
could do that with the documents you need, then copy and paste the
html source.
