May I suggest a path.
Find SimpleSearch Plugin on tiddlywiki.com.
Open the tiddler. Cut and paste the contents into your tiddlywiki.
Be sure to tag your tiddler ‘systemConfig’

Then save you TW.
Reload using your browser, and the plugin is installed.
Try a search - notice that it has changed the default behavior.

This is how any plugin is installed.

Do the same with themes. But to apply the theme, find the backstage
area and look under Tweaks. You'll find, third box from the bottom, a
box to cut and paste the name of the theme you've copied into your TW

I hope this enough to get you started
