Hello everyone. I have a question about transclusion [with macros]. While "tiddler" and "slider" macros allow to organize very carefully they have one considerable drawback.
When I read my notes and manage them included tiddlers slow editing drastically: if I need to edit an included tiddler, I need to open it so I need to get and its name so I need to open the containing tiddler and then to write the name of the included one into the "search" engine.. It seems to be a little bulky, doesn't it? Or I include a link to the included tiddler into it.. well, this is neither a beautifull solution. So, any suggestions? Any existing plugins? My "wish-like" thoughts: it would be useful to get the included one for editing with one of the following ways: a) double-click on the tiddler causes a "chose a part to edit" mode: if there's no transclusions, it is automatically changed into the edit mode; if there are, the deepest transclusion on which the cursor is focused gets a red (or another) margin, thick solid red magin). Of course, when the one gets unfocused, the margin becomes the own of the new one. The third click opens the included tiddler in editing mode/ covers the containing tiddler with a monocolored mask, opens the included tiddler in editing mode in it and shows the "other transclusions/references" list. Pros: it is a fast method with no slowing of habitual things (if the "edit" button push causes a usual editing; double-clicking is replaced with just tripple-clicking on a proper place). Cons: it is desired seldom to make an "interlayer" tiddler which only contains the transclusion macro. In this case the method would not allow to edit the interlayer. b) double-click/push of the "edit" button causes to open a "tree" of transclusion (in general, a little more complicated structure), where a user chooses, which level (I called it layer above; whatever) of transclusion he wants to edit. Then, an editing mode is launched (in one of the ways mentioned above). Pros: it makes the transclusion scheme more clear. Cons: it slows habitual things a bit. But first of all: are there any established tricks/solutions? Thanks in advance, Yakov. -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "TiddlyWiki" group.
