If I'm not mistaken, your allowing the browser to remember a setting
is written into a cookie. Since you have a USB version of Firefox, I'm
guessing it's likely that the browser empties its cache after you
close it, thereby deleting the cookie and with it the setting. I
occasionally use a standalone version of Opera and TorFox and I know
they clean up after each other. Try checking the options to allow
JavaScript, they're probably written into an ini file or something, so
it's possible they're retained.
