I've noticed this, too — and I can no longer remember if it worked back when my whole network was WinXP. (?)
Perhaps it's related to the way saving is automatically disabled when viewing a TW over http? If so, there may be an override that would allow you to save over a LAN. I wouldn't know, but maybe one of the TW wizards will chime in if we're barking up the right tree. :) (For my part, I just grab the TW off the network, make my changes, and then return it whence it came.
