Hey, glad to help.

I actually finished this up as a family organizer. It has a messaging
system, a to do list, a calendar, a feeding time recorder for my infant
son's feedings.

If you are interested in why it wasn't executed then all I can tell you is
that (it seems) js code which isn't tagged with systemConfig and thus
loaded on startup is ignored if it produces errors. This has greatly
impeded my debugging process, but I've found that if I put an 'alert("It
worked!")' at the end of a script which won't produce output on it's own
then I can tell that it executed.

If you are interested in seeing the messaging system in action I'm making a
tiddlyspot right now to showcase it. I will post the link shortly, but you
should know that the messaging system depends on the following plugins:

NestedSliderPlugin
InlineJavascriptPlugin
ForEachTiddlerPlugin
DataTiddlerPlugin

Also each tiddler involved in the messaging system is tagged with
'messaging'.

If there is anything else I can do for you just ask.
