I might have figured a way (by accident actually) to mimic the WYSIWYG behavior. Although still in the primitive stage, you can try it here https://dl.dropbox.com/u/23745840/pre_release-1.5.1%2B0.7.8.html.
The idea actually came from a careless bug that I recently created, and it seems to work! Comments and suggestions are highly welcome!
