I think it is also possible to use core commands for complex filters but I'm uncertain of the syntax. Also, in case it's tiddlyspce you're using I think there are yet further filters available. In the growing tw.org <http://tiddlywiki.org/#Filters> (mainly thanks to Tobias Beer I think) there are some basic explanations on filters and related.
