Thanks for the feedback - the sidebar only recently moved from the left to
the right, and the documentation is lagging, sorry about that.

The default theme used on five.tiddlywiki.com is designed to be simple and
clean for visitors to the site. It will be supplemented by additional
themes that will explore other layout options. In particular it's easy to
create a theme that is a modification of another theme, making it easy to
tweak the off-the-shelf themes as you need them.

I'm considering an edit toolbar fixed to the top of the window that will
only be visible when a TiddlyWiki is in "edit mode". The backstage was
originally conceived as a fallback for recovering from customisation
changes that might render a TW unusable. In practice, it evolved into a
quick-access toolbar. My intention is to cater for those two needs
separately.
