The reason that TiddlyWiki classic tiddlers are imported as plain text is that there are some significant incompatibilities between the wikitext syntax in TiddlyWiki5 and TiddlyWiki classic. In the future there may be tools to help, but right now manual editing is required to convert TW classic wikitext into TW5 wikitext. Tiddlers in TW5 have a "type" field that distinguishes tiddlers in TW classic format vs. TW5 format. When you first import TW classic format tiddlers they will appear as plain text because their "type" field is set to TW classic format, and TW5 doesn't know how to display TW classic format. There will soon be a user interface allowing the user to change the type of tiddlers, so that these TW classic tiddlers can be switched over and updated.
