Hi Jeremy, The time stamp thing was my mistake. It always defaulted (I suppose) to GMT. I got confused with the time stamp of Nautilus (Linux file manager). All is as it should be in that department. Sorry for the confusion I created.
My take on this is that this is by no means your fault. Ubuntu should distribute their official upgrades of Firefox faster. Anyway, thanks for creating this marvelous piece of software which I have been using on a daily basis for over seven years. (You can see why this not-saving business would be irritating.)
