Ah, sorry, forgot a couple of plugins for the question 2: SnapshotPlugin 
and SaveAsPlugin.

And if I may dream a bit, I'd add to the question 5 "use for writing music 
scores" -- apps like MuseScore are too much platform-depended and mixing 
parts of score music with (hyper)text looks very natural for me (for both 
learning and composing), so I would be very happy if I could do this with 
TW.
