A bit more progress.
The problem I'm now facing is strange and I think it has to do with host the custom Template is being parsed.

I've got a slice of HTML that defines a form using <table> but without the <form> as per example. For readability I'm using the <fieldset> to group and delineate fields. The parser doesn't like that!

     JavaScript Alert
  FormTiddlerPlugin error.  No setter defined for INPUT element
  of type 'fieldset'.

If I remove the 'fieldset' it works, but the layout is awful. It may be a CSS problem. I'd still like to have those grouping that the 'fieldset' let me have.
