The @@ is trying to apply the class to the <$list> widget itself, which
ignores it. The solution is to apply the class to a wrapping div instead.

The template is rendered with the current tiddler set to the tiddler being
transcluded. That means that the <$view> widgets in the template will
render the fields of the tiddler being transcluded not the template. It's
the same mechanism that is used to view the current tiddler "through" the
ViewTemplate.
